Journey Aura

Terms & Conditions

The basis on which we quote, confirm and run your trip.

Last updated: 13 August 2026

These terms apply to every booking made with Journey Aura. Please read them before paying an advance — they set out what we are responsible for, what you are responsible for, and what happens when travel does not go to plan. They should be read alongside our Refund & Cancellation Policy and Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

Journey Aura is a travel and destination management company based in New Delhi, operating holiday packages across India and South East Asia. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Journey Aura, and "you" means the person making the booking and everyone travelling on it.

By paying an advance against a quotation, you accept these terms on behalf of every traveller in your booking.

2. Quotations and confirmation

A quotation is an estimate based on the hotels, cabs and rates available on the day we prepare it. It is not a booking. Rates can move until we confirm, particularly in peak season, and a quotation is valid for 7 days unless we state otherwise.

Your trip is confirmed only when we have received the agreed advance and sent you a written confirmation or voucher. Verbal assurances, WhatsApp chat and draft itineraries do not by themselves confirm a booking.

3. Payments

  • An advance is payable to confirm any booking. The amount is stated on your quotation and depends on the season and the suppliers involved
  • The balance is due before departure, on the date shown on your confirmation
  • If the balance is not paid by that date, we may treat the booking as cancelled and apply the charges in our Refund & Cancellation Policy
  • All payments are in Indian Rupees unless agreed otherwise, and GST applies at the prevailing rate

Pay only into the account named on your invoice, and ask us to confirm before transferring if anything about the details looks unusual.

4. Prices and what they include

Your itinerary lists exactly what is included and excluded. Anything not listed as included is payable by you. Prices are based on the stated number of travellers and room sharing — if that changes, the price changes.

Where a government revises taxes, fuel levies, entry fees or permit charges after your booking is confirmed, the difference is payable by you before departure.

5. Documents, visas and identification

You are responsible for carrying valid identification, and for holding a passport valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates where a trip goes abroad. We will help with visa paperwork and appointments, but the decision always rests with the consulate.

A refused or delayed visa is not grounds for a refund beyond what our Refund & Cancellation Policy allows, and visa fees are never refundable once an application is submitted.

6. Hotels and rooms

Hotels are named on your itinerary as "or similar". If a named property becomes unavailable, we will move you to a hotel of the same or better standard and tell you before departure.

Standard check-in is usually 12:00 noon and check-out 10:00 or 11:00, set by the hotel and not by us. Early check-in and late check-out are always on request. A triple room is generally a double room with an extra mattress rather than three separate beds.

7. Transport

Cabs are provided for the itinerary as written. The vehicle is not at your disposal for unlimited use — additional running outside the planned route is charged directly by the driver.

In hill destinations, some stretches are served only by local union taxis. Where that applies it is noted in your itinerary and paid directly on the spot.

Driving times shown are estimates in normal conditions. Traffic, weather, roadwork and army convoy movement can extend them considerably, particularly in Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal.

8. Changes to your itinerary

Mountain and island travel does not always run to plan. Where snow, rain, landslides, roadblocks, permit refusals, strikes or security orders make part of an itinerary impossible, our team will rearrange it on the ground to keep the trip going.

Sightseeing missed because of weather or a road closure cannot be refunded, as the hotels and vehicles for that day are already paid for. Where a paid activity is genuinely not delivered, we refund what the supplier refunds us.

9. Your responsibilities while travelling

  • Be ready at the pickup times agreed with your driver — a late start can cost you a sightseeing stop
  • Look after your own luggage, documents, cash and valuables
  • Respect local laws, customs and the property of hotels and transport partners
  • Tell us at booking about any medical condition, allergy, pregnancy or mobility need that affects your travel

We may decline to continue serving any traveller whose behaviour endangers others or repeatedly disrupts the group, without refund.

10. Health, fitness and insurance

Several of our destinations sit at high altitude — Ladakh in particular — and some itineraries involve walking on uneven ground. You are responsible for judging whether you are fit to travel and for consulting a doctor if unsure.

We strongly recommend travel insurance covering medical treatment, evacuation, cancellation and lost baggage. We do not provide insurance and are not liable for medical or evacuation costs.

11. Our liability

We arrange services from independent hotels, transport operators, airlines and activity providers, and we select them with care. We are not liable for injury, illness, death, loss or delay caused by those suppliers or by events outside our reasonable control.

Where we are found liable for a failure in the services we arranged, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected part of the trip. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

12. Photography

We may use photographs taken during a trip for our website and social media. Tell us in writing if you would prefer that we do not, and we will exclude you.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Delhi.
